OnePlus 5T

OnePlus 5T is the latest phone developed, designed and marketed by Chinese company OnePlus. It was announced on 16th November 2017 and first went on sale on 21st November 2017.

Specifications & Features of OnePlus 5T

Stop me if you’ve heard this before – a 6-inch, 18:9 OLED display sandwiched top and bottom by thin bezels. The Shenzhen based Chinese smartphone maker has tried its level best to compete with its rivals,  OnePlus 5T offers some great features & we would also like to share its specifications with you:

  • Processor: As like the previous One Plus 5, the new OnePlus 5T is powered by a 2.45GHz octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor clubbed with Adreno 540 GPU.
  • RAM: OnePlus 5T is available in two variations: 6GB RAM and 8GB RAM.
  • Internal storage: The OnePlus 5T smartphone has two different storage & it does not support any kind of external & its non-expandable as well: 64GB and 128GB.
  • Screen: The OnePlus 5T, is the boast of a near edge-to-edge — bezel-less — screen and an unusual 18:9 aspect ratio and instead of a regular 16:9. The OnePlus 5T, in terms of specifics, comes with a 6.01-inch full-HD optic AMOLED display with a resolution of  1080 x 2160 pixel and 401 PPI.
The optic AMOLED screen of the OnePlus 5T  supports both sRGB and DCI-P3 wide color gamut, as also something called as “Sunlight display” a built-in software that adapts automatically to harsh light to facilitate a great viewing experience.
  • Rear camera: The OnePlus 5T, is designed with a dual camera system on the rear. It is more or less the same setup. The only difference is the fact that OnePlus has tweaked the aperture of the second lens so as to allow for better low-light photography in the case of the OnePlus 5T.
Also, the secondary lens comes with the same focal length as the primary one, meaning it’s not specifically a telephoto or zoom lens. The secondary lens, it seems, comes into effect only during low-light conditions or while shooting in portrait mode.
  • The dual camera option in the OnePlus 5T is like the OnePlus 5, will feature a primary 16-megapixel camera, supported by a 20-megapixel telephoto camera. While the 16-megapixel camera of the lens of  Sony IMX 398  features the same f/1.7 aperture, the secondary 20-megapixel camera is also of the Sony IMX 376 features a larger f/1.7 aperture. The dual camera system onboard the OnePlus 5T, much like the OnePlus 5, is capable of shooting photos with shallow depth of field, or bokeh effect through a specialized portrait mode. There is also a dedicated Pro Mode for pro users. The system is also capable of recording 4K videos and shooting in RAW file format.  Sadly, the OnePlus 5T’s rear camera system still not assisted with Optical Image Stabilisation.
  • Front camera: As like the OnePlus 5, the OnePlus 5T also supports a 16-megapixel front-facing camera with f/2.0 aperture.
  • Software: It runs on latest Android 7.1.1 Nougat-based Oxygen OS sooner you can find the latest Android Oreo update for this phone.
  • Battery: The OnePlus 5T is backed by a 3,300mAh battery and support OnePlus’ proprietary Dash charging(fast charging) technology. It has a “Face Unlock” facial recognition feature that can be used to unlock the device, but not to authenticate the purchases. It uses 2D scanning and is claimed to work 99% of the time.
  • Special features: By the looks of it, the OnePlus 5T  indeed ship with an Oppo R11s-like design scheme, which means much like the Oppo phone. As is understandable in such cases, the smartphone comes with a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner as opposed to the front-mounted seating in the OnePlus 5. As a result of such a placement, the front of this phone is all screen and is “A New View”. The smartphone has a  6.01-inch display with Corning Gorilla Glass 5 on top, but because the phone is longer (and not wider) it occupies a smaller footprint when in the hands.
  • Body: The OnePlus 5T has a full-metal body, the phone measures 7.3mm in thickness and 162 gram in weight. The near edge-to-edge design and unusual 18:9 aspect ratio gives the OnePlus 5T a screen to body ratio of 80.5percentt.
  • The OnePlus 5T  retains the OnePlus 5’s Alert Slider which is basically a quick notification toggle (all, priority, and none) to quickly sort your app notifications. It comes with a USB Type-C port for charging and data-syncing purposes, a bottom-facing speaker out, a 3.5mm audio jack and dual-SIM (nano-SIM) support. The phone, in addition,  also supports NFC and Bluetooth 5.0.

Conclusion

In the end, we would like to share our personal verdict about this beautiful and sleek designed phone, on the basis of the leak, it is more like a powerhouse also it’s pretty much similar with the OnePlus 5 as well, especially both phones have almost similar hardware specs.

The OnePlus 5T has a bezel-less phone like the Apple iPhone X and the Samsung Galaxy Note 8, but going by OnePlus’ usual proceedings, we can totally expect this phone to cost a lot less in comparison. You can find it in various e-commerce such as Amazon & Flipkart as well.
This smartphone costs somewhere between 32,000-37,000 in the Indian market. Prices may be different if you are going with the different variant,  We will highly recommend you to buy this amazing phone, as it has everything. It’s the phone which is giving value for money.
