Indonesia Masters: Nehwal defeats Sindhu reach Semifinals
There’s always a good and a bad news, The good news for Indian fans is that there will be an Indian sportsperson in the Indonesian Masters World Tour badminton championships women’s singles semi-finals on Saturday.
The bad news for some badminton fans is that Nehwal defeats Sindhu and enter the semi-finals, also Indian will miss both Indian players, who are currently playing well enough to win the second international competition of 2018.
In a complete Indian clash the two best badminton player from India, Saina Nehwal & PV Sindhu has a beautiful game and they both had a straight game to enter into the semi-finals of the Indonesia Masters badminton tournament where the winner will get $350,000. London Olympics bronze-medallist Saina, who is still recovering from an ankle injury, took just 37 minutes to beat Sindhu 21-13, 21-19 in the amazing game of quarter-finals.
Former World No.1 Saina has back in her supreme form after performing deliberately in Rio Olympics, she completely dominates P.V Sindhu from the very beginning of the match and quickly took a 3-0 lead in the first set, however, Sindhu fought back like a fighter and made it 4-4 but she failed in front of a ruler to have an upper hand in the game and Saina easily won the first set without any difficulties.
However, in the second set, the Rio Olympics silver medallist Sindhu bagged some quick points and took a lead from Saina with 10-7 at the certain point, but Saina Nehwal kept her calm, shown her patience, quality, experience and turned the game in her favor after the break. The Indonesian Masters Championship has not seen the brilliant rally between the two Indian shuttlers ever before and it turned out to be a nail-biting match which luckily ended up in Sania’s favor.
The World No.12 Saina has recorded her second official win over second seed Sindhu in three meetings, will now play the women’s singles semi-finals on Saturday, where she will clash against former world champion and Thai fourth seed Ratchanok Intanon, who defeated reigning world champion Nozomi Okuhara of Japan in the quarterfinals earlier in the day.
